We’re pleased to announce that we have awarded the 2025 Artifex Engineering Limited (NZ) Scholarship to Jemma Crockett who will be starting her Bachelor of Engineering studies at University of Canterbury in 2026. Our scholarship program is intended to seek year 13 students with a high achieving academic achievement and who come from a background where there is limited exposure to university trained professionals in the extended family and friends’ network.

Applicants came in from multiple high schools in the Hastings area. Jemma graduated as a year 13 student from Karamū High School in 2025 who, among many other achievements, received the Karamū High School Cup for Year 12 General Excellence, Level 1, 2 and 3 NCEA excellence endorsement and distinction in many NCEA subjects. Jemma also won the scholarship to attend Women in Engineering Canterbury (WiW CAN) 2025 programme.

Aside from some financial input over the 4-year degree, Jemma will be paired up with one of our engineers who will provide mentoring throughout her studies, we also hope to have Jemma come to our clients’ sites and get exposure to many of our projects, meet our clients and gain valuable industry design, project management and construction knowledge.
